Event Description:

The Second Life of Freddie Nole (20 min) When Freddie Nole drives to meet a man walking out of prison, he’s not just offering a ride, he’s offering hope, dignity, and a path to permanent freedom. As this vérité road trip unfolds over the course of one day, we come to learn the remarkable story behind Freddie’s mission, a staggering mistake that cost him 50 years of freedom but ultimately brings him right back to the prison door. The Great Nomad Expedition (44 min) A decade in the making, this epic journey was dreamed up by legendary New Zealand equestrian Chloe Phillips-Harris and Mongolian visionaries Tsetsgee Damdin and Unenburen Uyndenbat. Traversing the country 1,200 kilometers from the rugged Gobi Desert to the soaring peaks of Khovsgul by camel, yak, horse, and reindeer, the expedition immerses viewers in ancient traditions, intimate human stories, and landscapes of staggering beauty. Best Day Ever (50 min) Adaptive mountain bikers Greg Durso and Allie Bianchi tackle the daily challenges of disability-and find joy, connection, and belonging in Vermont's mountain biking community. Set in the Green Mountains, this is a story of grit, independence, and what's possible when community and creativity come together. At its heart is the world's first fully adaptive trail network-built to prove that everyone belongs outside. Visually stunning and emotionally powerful, Best Day Ever challenges perceptions of disability and celebrates community. Winner, Audience Award for Best Documentary at Heartland International Film Festival 2025. Tickets available at ycpac.com or (928) 776-2000.
